Intruder(s)

It happened last night. Or early this morning, rather.

Around 4am, I heard my dad shouting loudly downstairs. My first reaction was to think that our cat had attacked the new kitten again as we've been trying to keep them apart all day long.

It turned out that there was an attempted burglary.

Our maid, whose room is downstairs, was woken up in the middle of the night because dogs from some houses nearby were barking non-stop. She then heard noises of men talking outside the house. She looked out of her window and saw a guy standing in our backyard, trying to break the lock of this small storage place we have. She immediately went upstairs to call my parents.

My brother turned on the alarm system and my dad yelled at the man to scare him away. The intruder climbed over the wall and disappeared in the dark. I'm sure he didn't come alone, there must be more of them waiting for him on the other side of the wall. We suspected that they most probably didn't even run off, but hid somewhere dark in the alley behind our house.

I don't think any of us got much sleep after that. The incident left us shocked and terrified.

Crimes make my blood boils and send chills down my spine. It's a scary feeling when you can't even feel secure in the safety of your own home.

*Deep sighs*

Oh Dear! I understand how you must be feeling. :(
Everyday we hear & read of snatch thefts, burglaries, abuses, rapes, murders, etc.
We can never ever have peace in anywhere this world - be it in your own neighbourhood or even in Melbourne.

Take care & HUGS!
