The Sweetest Thing

The first night after Bee arrived in Melbourne, he took me into his arms and asked if I was willing to go home with him.

Then he apologised for the occasional disagreements we had. Reason being that he shouldn't have argued with me when I was working in foreign land all by myself.

After seeing the path I used to take to go to work everyday, he suddenly felt really guilty for putting me through those arguments. No matter how unreasonable I was, he felt that he should have been more patient and tolerant because it was hard enough for a girl to be all alone in a different city.

That's when he said, "Come home and I'll look after you, baby. If you really can't settle well in Malaysia and want to come back to Melbourne, we should relocate together. You can't be on your own anymore."

A few nights before we were due to return to KL, he saw right through me and knew how strongly I was emotionally attached to Melbourne.

He looked into my eyes and said, "Let's work towards buying you a place in Melbourne huh, princess? This way, you can always feel that you're still connected to this city and you can come back to stay in your own house whenever you want."

Of course the promise can't be realised anytime soon, but those words warmed my heart immeasurably on that cold winter night.

"Let me take care of you."

That's the sweetest thing a guy could say.

It really is. It's a great feeling knowing that at the end of the day, there's always someone home, waiting for you. :)

Congratz for you having a good partner that really cares about you. You should really appreciate him.

Cc: Exactly. It's comforting to know that no matter what happens, someone's got your back. :)

HyperX: Thanks. He can be pretty sweet at times, and he's been really supportive over the years. But let's not give him a big head huh? *Winks*
