Spring Resolution 2 - Fix Me Bones

I've had this nagging back pain for the past year or so.

I personally believe that it's mainly due to the nature of my work, and probably, my love for heels.

But I haven't worn heels to work for as long as I can remember, so I really think it's mostly because of my job.

On some days it can get pretty bad till I have to stretch myself or curve my spine just to get some relief. And often it gets real sore that I have to hunch because it's simply too tiring to hold my back up-straight.

But it's a common thing for people in my line of work (job hazard?), so I just kinda learned to live with it.

However, when it doesn't seem to be getting any better now that I don't have to be on my feet all day anymore, Bee and I got a bit worried.

I haven't been going out much at all for the past month, even with the crazy mega sales going on, because my lower back's been giving me griefs.

There isn't a position I'm comfortable in, even when I'm lying down or sleeping. That pretty much killed my mood to dress up or to go out or to do anything else. Not even shopping could tempt me a bit, and that, my dear, is very abnormal.

Or maybe that just gave me an extra reason to bum around. Hehe.

With me vowing to be more active and healthy starting this spring, it really isn't a viable idea for me to continue having a sore back not knowing the cause of it. Especially if I plan on returning to work in Melbourne in the near future.

So yesterday, I finally kept my appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon at Pantai Hospital.

He didn't seem to think it's anything serious, but we still did the MRI and all, just so we can pin point the problem that's been causing all the discomfort.

And we go back to review the results on Saturday.

So keep your fingers crossed, people. :)

Is better to take care of our bone while still young. Take balance diet every day, less cold water, take some natural calcium supplement will help a lot too. :):)

I'm sure your spring resolution 1 would help achieving this one too, of course provided you stick to your routine. You may just kill two birds with 1 stone!

Have you tried tempur-pedic beds? :] The air planes really kill my back every week, but when I get to lay in my bed, I just feel like everything is back to its healthy self, hehehe.

Fashionasia: Yeah, I've heard that from quite a few people and I think my mum used to have back pain when she was pregnant with me. Speaking of which, how's the pregnancy coming along? :)

Iamthewitch: Thanks for the well wishes. I can't wait to hit the malls again! Hehe.

Molly: I can so foresee myself having all sort of joint pains when I'm old, thanks to years of unhealthy diet and lifestyle. :P

Bengbeng: Yeah, I've been lectured by the orthopaedic surgeon for not having any back muscles what-so-ever. Results of sheer laziness. Haha.

Doreen: Exactly! That's what I planned out to do too. But, I'm already slacking off. Sigh.

Prettybeautiful: In a nutshell, I'm in healthcare. (I don't really like to admit it since I never practise what I preach to my patients. Haha!)
Unlike Msia, we don't get to sit down much at all in our line of work in Aus. I guess those long hours of being on my feet everyday has taken a toll of my poor back. My bad posture probably contributed to the problem too. :(

Fuzkittie: That's a great suggestion, dear. I really should look into getting a better (and larger) bed after we're done with the renovation. :)
