Big Race Sale Launch @ Robinsons

Went to the Robinson's Big Race Sale Launch with Bee's family tonight.

The (not really) closed-door sale started at 6.30pm, we only got there around 9pm because we left the house late and had to wait for a table at Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐). But the service was pleasant and the food was great, so I'm not complaining. ^_^

I wasn't really in the mood to shop as I was still feeling groggy from the antihistamine I took last night, so it's just a small haul.

I only grabbed these two scarves at the very last minute, when everyone else had done paying and the shop was closing. I was in such a hurry that I didn't even have time to browse through the shelves, but simply snatched the first two I saw.

And they turned out to be really good purchases!

You know what they say - you often get the star buys when you don't plan to shop.

(Okay you got me there, I made that up. Haha.)

I found out later that this pashmina is actually made of 70% cashmere, which I didn't know at the time of purchase. It's no wonder that it feels as soft as butter to the skin!

And this scrunch scarf is very pretty and versatile!

But then again, I could be totally biased as I love the olive + gold/bronze colour combo. The rich shade of dark olive with subtle gold speckles along the rim totally hit the right buttons for me. :)

I also got 2 pair of earrings, mainly because I was intrigued by their cute packaging. Kinda reminded me of Chinese takeaway boxes? Haha.

All accessories come in separate little silver bags too. Except that I had to ask for mine because I got a really lazy sales assistant who stuffed everything into one bag. :/

I thought this pair of earrings is really sweet and girly. Not sure if I'd wear them though since I mostly wear really simple earrings or plain studs, but they sure are pretty to look at huh?

Can you see the little "diamonds" in the crowns? Younger teenage girls will so love them!

These, on the other hand, are a little more mature. They will be perfect for a night out, paired with your favourite little black dress and killer heels.

I especially like the tapered colour of the crystals, which gave them a little more character and edginess.

So, what do you think?

The scarves were gorgeous! How much were they discounted for the sale? As for the earrings, I think I prefer the elongated ones rather than the crowns... :)

I've been wondering about scarves... how do you wear them? I know the basic ones but saw in some Korean fashion pictures an attractive way to tie them. It's sort of triangular, around the girl's neck. *shrugs* Very cowboy-ish. I'm wondering if you know how to tie it that way? ^^

Fuzkittie: It's true, we often stumble across the best bargains when we're not even looking. :P

Che-Cheh: Haha. Thanks, girl! :)

Tine: It's a gorgeous shade of olive, isn't it? ^_^

Emotionalistic: Best part is, we don't have to worry about creases! Hehe.

Sab: Really? What a coincidence! They might just be the same pair too! ^_^

Doreen: They're cute huh? Not sure if they're for me though, I don't do cute well. Haha.

Iamthewitch: If I'm not mistaken, I think they were on 50% off? It was then lowered to only 20% on the second day of sale though. :|

Renaye: I wear my scarves really casually, more to keep me warm than to accessorise. Haha. I think I wear European Loop the most. :)

Ann: I think I know what you mean. It's the hottest look atm, and it's really easy! Fold your scarf (preferably a square one) into a triangle, tie it loosely behind your neck, then bring the ends around to the front again, and voila! Hope that helps. :)

Sdovelly: Haha. The owner is too lazy to take pictures of herself. :P

Lila: Aww..you flatterer! :)
