Positive Energy
Yes, some positive energy. Finally!!
Earlier today, I met up with Sam for afternoon tea.
We've known each other since we were kids, but haven't met up for quite a few years.
That's the thing about childhood friends though - no matter how long you've lost touch with each others' lives, the friendship and familiarity just doesn't fade much.
She came over to pick me up, and the moment we saw each other, we were instantly brought back to those high school days. It was as if we had never parted, it felt just like yesterday that we were secretly writing each other notes in class and passing them under the table.
She took me to the hotel lobby that we used to hang out all the time back in those days. The tables and seats still looked the same, even the deco didn't change much.
But I guess, we did.
Over tea and finger sandwiches, we slowly filled each other in on what's been happening in our lives.
And time just flew by.
Before we knew it, the sun had gone down, dinner was being served, and we had talked for more than 5 hours!
We were both taken aback by how similar certain areas of our lives are. It felt like in a different place, different time and with different people, we were actually going through the same things. The things that some people would never really understand unless they were placed in the same situations.
Which is exactly why her stories inspired me a lot.
In fact, I don't think I've felt this motivated in a really long time. It was like I was infused with a sudden and strong boost of positive energy, and I felt all pumped up.
I truly admire her for her courage and determination to take matters into her own hands and single-handedly turned things around in her life. What used to seem almost impossible, she made it happen by simply believing in herself and charging forth with confidence even when no one else had faith in her.
Her stories inspired me so much that I'm almost starting to believe that maybe, just maybe, I could do the same too.
I came home beaming with positive vibes and adrenaline rushing through my veins.
Now let's see how long this feeling is gonna last.

5 left a petal:
Yea, I love catching up with old friends and listen to their stories. We can learn from each other's mistakes and glory :). Glad that you have recharged the positive energy in you :).
Hopefully your positive energy will be long-lasting so that you could overcome whatever problems you have. Good luck girl! :)
awww! i guess we all need someone's positive energy to rub off on us. :) hope it'll stay for a long long time.
It's good that you've finally found some positive "chi". Hope this "chi" would bring all your worries to an end.
Emotionalistic: I agree, it's always interesting and helpful to listen to other people's life experiences and learn from one another. :)
Iamthewitch: Thanks, hun. I'm (slowly) trying to jump-start the positive side of me. :D
Sab: I certainly hope so too, gal. But why is it so much easier to hold on to the negative energy than the positive ones? >_<
Doreen: I doubt all my worries are just gonna magically disappear and go away, darl, but it sure felt good to have that boost of positive "chi". Here's hoping that it hangs around long enough huh? ^_^
